Due diligence in our supply chain
Holship works to promote good working and environmental conditions throughout our supply chains, in close cooperation with our suppliers and partners. To make our expectations clear, we have established guidelines for ethical trade covering fundamental requirements for human rights, workers’ rights and the environment.
We follow the UN principles for responsible business conduct — the UN Global Compact — built on ten principles covering human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption. Our guidelines are developed in line with these principles, in addition to applicable ILO and ISO standards.
Among the clauses covered
Goods produced to our guidelines
Suppliers deliver goods and services produced in accordance with our guidelines, and pass them on to their own sub-suppliers.
Documented compliance
On request, suppliers must document compliance — through self-declaration, follow-up interviews or mapping of working conditions at the production site.
Minimum requirements
Our guidelines are minimum requirements. National and international law always applies, and takes precedence where stricter.
Consequences of breach
Breaches are assessed for severity. Holship may require a corrective plan or terminate the agreement where a deviation is serious.
